The all-new 2022 Tucson Hybrid is offered in Blue, SEL Convenience, and Limited trims, with increasing levels of comfort and equipment. No matter the model you choose, you’ll get great value in the small SUV class. U.S. News & World Report named the 2022 Hyundai Tucson as the Best Hybrid and Electric SUV for the Money.

The starting MSRP for each model is:

  • Blue: $29,750.
  • SEL Convenience: $32,350.
  • Limited: $38,050.

For additional savings, every new Hyundai comes with complimentary maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles. You’ll also benefit from the best new vehicle warranty in America.

Striking Exterior Styling

SUVs are practical and versatile, but they rarely feature inspiring design. Hyundai has changed all that with the new Tucson. From the bold grille with its concealed headlights and cascading daytime running lights, to the profile’s bulging fenders and sharp creases, to the sporty rear end with its unique lighting signature, the Tucson will turn heads wherever you go in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolis.

Standard exterior features on the Tucson include proximity key entry, LED headlights, turn signals, daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed heated power mirrors with integrated turn signals, rear privacy glass, and a rear spoiler. The Tucson SEL Convenience trim adds 19-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof. A hands-free smart tailgate with automatic opening makes for easy access to the spacious cargo area, even when you’ve got your hands full.

Stepping up to the top-of-the-line Limited trim gets you premium front and rear fascias, projector headlights, premium daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, and chrome-accented mirrors. Dark chrome exterior trim adds a touch of elegance.

Hybrid Powertrain

Powering the Tucson Hybrid is a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.6-liter gas engine mated to a 44.2 kW electric motor and a 270-volt lithium-ion polymer battery for a total system output of 226 horsepower. All models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission that transfers power to the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system.

The Tucson Hybrid Blue will return up to 38 mpg for both city and highway driving, while the other trims give you 36 mpg on the highway and 37 mpg around the Plano city streets. At lower speeds, the Tucson Hybrid uses less gas and more electric for better gas mileage. Regenerative braking recharges the battery by converting energy into electricity.

Tucson’s size makes it easy to maneuver around the narrow streets in town, and parking feels effortless. Out on the open road, sharp steering, composed handling, and responsive brakes provide a rewarding driving experience. Standard paddle shifters let you control the drive. The suspension smooths out the bumps in the road for a comfortable ride, while the solar control acoustic-laminated front glass helps keep the interior cool and quiet.

In testing, the Tucson Hybrid sprinted from zero mph to 60 mph in a speedy 7.7 seconds. With standard all-wheel drive, the Tucson will take you where other small SUVs fear to tread. Standard Drive Mode Select lets you choose the ideal balance of performance and economy. This eager SUV can also tow up to 2,000 pounds when properly equipped, meaning you don’t have to leave anything behind on your adventures.

Spacious and Well-Equipped Cabin

Inside, the Tucson Hybrid’s spacious and versatile cabin offers plenty of room for passengers and cargo. This SUV was named as a finalist for the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Hybrid and Electric SUV for Families award because of its space and practicality. The interior has a sleek, modern look with upscale materials and a luxurious ambiance.

The comfortable and supportive seats accommodate five people, and with the rear seats upright, you have a 38.8 cubic-foot cargo area. When you’ve got more gear than passengers, the rear seats are easily folded via the remote release in the cargo area to give you up to 74.5 cubic feet of cargo space with a dual-level floor.

The Tucson Blue offers push-button start, stain-resistant fabric upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and two 12-volt power outlets. The standard dual-zone automatic temperature control features multi-air mode and is easily set with the capacitive-touch controls.

In the SEL Convenience, you’ll find a shroudless, customizable 10.25-inch digital instrument panel that gives the dash a smooth, streamlined look. It also offers a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and ambient lighting. The range-topping Limited trim features leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, memory driver’s seat, a power-adjustable passenger seat, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Its enhanced 64-color ambient lighting lets you set the mood.

High-Tech Features

With the standard infotainment system, you get an 8-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, front and rear dual USB ports, and an audio system with HD and satellite radio. The SEL Convenience adds wireless device charging.

With the Limited trim, you get a 10.25-inch touch screen with navigation, dynamic voice recognition, wired smartphone integration, and a Bose sound system. This model also gives you a surround view monitor, while the blind-spot view monitor displays a live image of your blind spots on the digital instrument cluster. Remote park assist enables you maneuver your Tucson into and out of a tight parking space without being in the vehicle.

The standard Hyundai SmartSense suite of driver assist technologies helps keep you and your family safe on the Texas roads. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson received a maximum of five stars in the NHTSA overall safety ratings and was awarded a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS.
