 2024 Hyundai Sonata: Interior Features

The Hyundai SONATA has come a long way since it debuted in the mid-’80s when sedans started receiving considerable attention. This entry-level sedan owes its mass appeal to its stylish looks, premium features, and compelling performance, which have catapulted it to the top of its market segment with every new release.

Hyundai has officially unveiled the 2024 edition of the SONATA, which showcases a sportier and futuristic design, an ultra-luxurious cabin, and an impressive suite of tech features. In this guide, the team at Huffines Hyundai Plano explores the exciting interior features that Hyundai sedan enthusiasts can expect with this final edition of the SONATA. Let’s dive right in.

Infotainment Center and Technology Features

The latest Hyundai SONATA dashboard has received a facelift, with a 12.3-inch digital cluster display and a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen in the centerpiece. The two screens are encapsulated in a single curved display panel, making them highly convenient to access and navigate. Besides these sophisticated upgrades, the 2024 Hyundai SONATA will likely retain the interior tech features of the 2023 model.

Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard on all trims. Like its predecessor, the 2024 SONATA’s infotainment center will also feature HD Radio, SiriusXM, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, and satellite navigation with live traffic updates. Higher trim levels, such as the SEL Plus, N Line, and Limited, will likely come with a Bose sound system with 12 speakers. Other tech features we expect to see in the 2024 edition of the SONATA include dynamic voice recognition and a digital key.

Interior Style and Space

The Hyundai SONATA is known for having arguably the swankiest interior styling of any midsize sedan in its price segment. The current generation model, for instance, features an upscale interior with excellent build quality and finishes. While Hyundai is yet to reveal all the interior styling details of the 2024 SONATA, we anticipate that it will retain most of the design elements of its predecessor.

Several exciting new developments have already been confirmed for the 2024 Hyundai SONATA. The new model receives a new steering wheel, which we anticipate will be more responsive than the previous model’s. Hyundai has also repositioned the gearshift closer to the steering column to create more space in the center console. Another notable change to the SONATA’s dashboard is the rearrangement of the climate control, making it more easily accessible. It’s also worth noting that Hyundai has reinforced the body of the 2024 SONATA, so you can expect better noise, vibration, and harshness isolation than the 2023 edition.

Besides these notable changes, the Hyundai SONATA carries over many interior design elements from the previous year. The SE and SEL trims will likely feature premium cloth upholstered seats, while the SEL and N Line trims should come with leather and microsuede seats. As for the top-of-the-range Limited trim, you can expect full-leather upholstered seats, similar to the 2023 edition.

Despite its coupe-like roofline, the Hyundai SONATA offers above-average cabin space on all its trims. As you’d expect from a midsize sedan of its status, the SONATA comfortably seats five passengers, with both rows offering plenty of headroom and legroom. However, unlike other midsize sedans, the SONATA’s rear seats might be slightly cramped for taller passengers on longer drives. Regarding cargo space, the 2024 SONATA offers a generous 16 cubic feet of trunk space, which should comfortably fit up to seven carry-on suitcases.

Driver Assistance Features

Hyundai’s SmartSense offers a range of driver assistance features designed to guarantee maximum safety and ease of navigation on the road. While Hyundai is yet to officially release the features included in the 2024 SONATA’s SmartSense, it’s safe to assume they will be similar to the previous model.

Here’s an overview of some of the 2024 Hyundai SONATA’s exciting safety and driver assistance features:

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist With Pedestrian Detection

Forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, designed to supplement your safe driving practices, comes standard on all trims. The system alerts you when it detects an incoming vehicle or passenger in your lane. If you fail to stop your vehicle in time upon receiving the collision warning, the system may automatically apply the brakes to bring your car to a halt.

Remote Smart Parking Assist

This feature, available only on the top-of-the-line Limited trim, enables your SONATA to park itself, even when you’re not inside. By pressing and holding the smart key button, you can get your Hyundai to back into or pull out of a parking lot space.

Lane Following Assist

Also available on all trims of the SONATA, lane following assist aids your steering to help keep your Hyundai centered inside its lane. It’s worth noting that this feature only works when the lane markings are visible on the road.

Highway Driving Assist

The highway driving assist feature, which is standard only on the N Line and Limited trims, is designed to help keep your Hyundai centered in its lane and traveling at a safe distance from the car ahead of yours on the highway.

Driver Attention Warning

This warning system monitors your driving patterns to detect signs of inattentive or drowsy driving. Once detected, the driver attention warning system sends an alert through an audio cue or a visual message on the instrument cluster.

Smart Cruise Control With Stop and Go

This system employs radar technology to keep your car traveling at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead when you’re driving at a preset speed. Once the system stops your vehicle, it automatically reactivates when the car in front of yours moves within 3 seconds.
