CU*RAT*ED: A Modern Pop Up Market

On Sunday, December 13, head to Legacy West at 6007 Legacy Drive for CU*RAT*ED, a fun-filled pop-up market that runs from noon to 5 p.m. It has a few different markets throughout the year, with the theme of the holiday market being “Home for the Holidays.” Here you can meet the makers of one-of-a-kind items and learn about their work, while you browse over 35 booths to find the perfect gift. There will be food and hot drinks, a holiday wagon, and a photo booth, so plan to have a fun afternoon enjoying this community event.

Plano Christmas Market

The Plano Christmas Market is at Carpenter Park Recreation Center on Saturday, November 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop by this local Christmas market to shop for handcrafted gifts made of wood, fabric, ceramic, glass, and more. You’ll find vendors selling handmade jewelry, clothing, and accessories, as well as locally made bath and body products, and cozy candles. Jams, jellies, and other preserved foods also make excellent gifts for anyone you know who values quality, handmade items that support local craftspeople in the community.

Holiday Warehouse

Be sure to check out the Holiday Warehouse for all your holiday decoration needs. This one-stop decoration shop is located at 2819 W 15th Street in downtown Plano and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. The shop is closed Sunday. It has everything you could ever want for your Christmas decorations, including baubles, balls, ornaments, ribbons, wreaths, wrapping greenery, and much more. You can browse for scented candles with notes of cinnamon, bourbon, and gingerbread. You may also find festive Santa figurines, colorful nutcrackers, elegant Christmas stockings, as well as velvet and metallic tree skirts.

Holiday Warehouse has several sizes of artificial Christmas trees, available in green or flocked/frosted with white, along with energy-efficient LED lights. The trees come equipped with Always Lite technology. All you have to do is connect the tree segments, and the lights will work, making for easy setup and takedown. Tree decorations include cute holiday animal ornaments, glittering jewel ornaments, sparkling ball ornaments, and elegant star and angel tree toppers. At Holiday Warehouse you can also take bow, wreath, and decorating classes for beginner and advanced participants. These classes are a fun and productive way to get into the holiday spirit.

Downtown Plano Arts District

The Downtown Plano Arts District is located along 15th Street in the heart of Plano and has many fun local boutiques where you can get your holiday shopping done. You can spend an afternoon exploring the shops and art galleries, then stop for drinks or a meal at some of the many eateries and watering holes in the area. At Holman Pottery on nearby 18th Street, you’ll find handmade ceramics, including art pieces, pottery, and sculpture which would make excellent gifts. Stop by Stitches Boutique and Lounge and give the gift of yarn to the knitter in your life. Lyla’s Boutique offers clothing for women and children as well as accessories, home decor, kitchen items, and gifts. Its clothing options include shoes, cute dresses, comfy lounge wear, and more.
