KidMania

A family fun center, KidMania is over 16,000 square feet of safe playground for kids and parents. Kids’ features include a gigantic two-story maze playground with multiple slides, a cave, bungee walls, zip-lines, tunnels, and climbing nets. There is a separate playground area only for tiny toddlers, an arcade with over 50 popular games, and a restaurant with an extensive menu. Parents will enjoy sneaking off to the quiet, adults-only “No Mania Parents Mezzanine” area with a full view of the entire play area and free Wi-Fi. 

KidMania has private party rooms, so it’s a great place for birthday parties, fun gatherings, and large events. The largest escape room in all of Texas, 11th Hour Escape has 10 unique escape rooms at their single location. There are always eight different themes running, so you’ll never get bored with solving the same puzzles. As the only escape room that lets you choose the level of difficulty, their experiences are adaptable to any skill level. The realistic 60-minute sessions provide your group with a mission to complete, suspense, and entertainment while challenging your team to work together, solve riddles, and discover clues.

The room capacities typically vary from four to 12 people but can accommodate up to 100 people at once by splitting them into 10 teams of 10 people. For large parties or work events, you can rent out the entire 1500 square foot facility or just the 15 person boardroom for smaller gatherings. The Interurban Railway Museum 

A free museum perfect for the entire family, the Interurban Railway Museum provides tours, interactive displays, and working “O” scale model trains. Museum guests can learn about regional history, train science, electric rail travel, the rail post office system, and period advertising inside train cars. Guests can tour the inside of Railway Post Office Car #360 in addition to touring the Interurban Railway Museum. 

The Interurban Railway Museum offers a free children’s story time every Friday at 10:30 a.m. hosted by professional storytellers. You can book self-guided tours or guided tours for large groups or special events. Although the museum is free thanks to the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation and the City of Plano, donations are welcome. Angelika Film Center and Cafe

A stylish boutique cinema with five screens, the Angelika Film Center and Cafe is not your typical movie theater. The second floor is open to the public and it is where you’ll find the gourmet cafe and bar. The cafe has a wide variety of snacks from concession classics like popcorn and nachos to fancy paninis and pastries. The full bar not only serves a gigantic list of wines, beer, and signature cocktails but also fresh brewed coffees and teas. You can enjoy your food and drinks before or after the show, or take them with you into the cinema auditoriums.

The striking architecture of the Angelika building is elegant and sophisticated. The main lobby has an Old Hollywood style chandelier with blue neon accents, and the room combines bamboo, steel, glass, marble, and leather. Board and Brush Creative Studio 

Offering creative DIY workshops, the Board and Brush Creative Studio is for inspiring people who love to be creative and connect with friends. Most workshops focus on building trendy and inspirational signs with a vintage weathered wood look for decorating your home or office. With the help of a workshop teacher, you learn the techniques for distressing, sanding, painting, staining, and customizing your sign so it looks like a professional piece of art. Some workshops include complimentary drinks, like sangria or mimosas.
