In Plano, Texas, and nearby areas, you and your friends and family can enjoy a variety of fun New Year’s Eve events. The team at Huffines Hyundai Plano has put together this list of some of the best ways to celebrate New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in the Plano area.
Reunion Tower Over the Top NYE 2023
Reunion Tower is a popular landmark in Dallas, and it’s only about 30 minutes away from Plano. It will partner with Hunt Realty Investments Inc. to host Over the Top for the seventh year. This fireworks spectacular benefits Children’s Health via the Reunion Tower NYE Foundation, which supports a different local nonprofit organization each year.
Reunion Tower Over the Top NYE is the only panoramic, 360-degree fireworks show in the Central time zone on New Year’s Eve. It starts at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022. At the same time, there’s a 250-drone light show in which the drones fly up to 400 feet high. The Hyatt Regency Hotel next door hosts a New Year’s Eve dinner buffet with live music, and you can get brunch on New Year’s Day.
Location: 300 Reunion Blvd. East, Dallas, TX 75207
Hours: The dinner buffet is served from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. You can also visit Monduel’s Bar at the Hyatt Regency from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Brunch is served on New Year’s Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The band has male and female vocals, a five-piece horn section, keyboards, a rhythm section, and more. They play classic favorites and the latest hits, so you could hear covers of songs from David Bowie, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Queen, Pat Benatar, Cardi B, and more.
There’s a dress code, so you’ll need cocktail or black-tie attire. Baseball caps, T-shirts, tennis shoes, and jeans aren’t allowed, and masks may be required in such areas as the restrooms and elevators. Several packages are available, and everyone will get party favors until they run out. Other options include a champagne toast, a three-course dinner, reserved seats, valet parking, a chance to meet the band, and special hotel room rates. Depending on the package you choose, admission costs from $100 to $300 per person. You must be at least 21 years old to enter.
